Proposed Table of Uses Within Zoning Ordinance, Concept Documents

Weaverville's Town Council is in the process of considering amendments to its laws governing land use and zoning within the boundaries of the Town of Weaverville. These amendments represent the first substantial re-write of the Town's zoning ordinance since its original adoption in 1978. Town Council initiated this project in November of 2016 and the Town's Planning and Zoning Board has been diligently working on the project since that time. The primary goals of the amendments are to incorporate a Table of Uses so that the zoning ordinance is easier to understand, implement and enforce and to update the zoning ordinance to comply with recent legislative changes. No zoning map amendments are proposed.

Information on the proposed amendments is available on the Town's website at or by contacting Town Hall at 828-645-7116.

Town Council, the Planning and Zoning Board and Town Staff would like to receive as much community input as possible on these proposed amendments prior to Town Council's consideration of adoption of the amendments. Citizens are encouraged to attend community meetings on the subject that are scheduled for Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 6:00 pm and Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 6:00 pm, both in Council Chambers at Town Hall, 30 South Main Street, Weaverville, NC. Citizens can also submit comments by email to or by bringing written comments to Town Hall. Citizens wishing to discuss the amendments in person can schedule an appointment to meet with Town leaders or staff by contacting the following:
