The Weaverville Town Council regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 18, 2020, was recessed to Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at 6:00 pm and will be held as a remote electronic meeting.

for the Weaverville ABC Board

Notice is hereby given in order to inform the public that the ABC Board of the Town of Weaverville will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 3, 2019, at 10:00 am within the Community Room of Town Hall located at 30 South Main Street, Weaverville, NC, on its proposed FY 2020-2021 Budget. This public hearing will be held in accordance with Section 18B-702 of the North Carolina General Statutes. Copies of the proposed budget can be obtained on the ABC store website at https://weaverville.ncabcboards.com or by calling the Weaverville ABC store at 828-645-3399.

Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency in-person attendance by the public may be limited or staggered and social distancing during the hearing will be required.

Written public comments can be submitted in advance of the public hearing and will be included in the record of the public hearing. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Weaverville Town Council will hold its regular monthly workshop meeting on Tuesday, June 9, 2020, beginning at 6:00 p.m.. At this meeting the Town will hold a Public Hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2020/2021 Budget for the Town of Weaverville. The proposed FY 2020-2021 budget has been posted on the Town’s website at www.weavervillenc.org or you to access and review.

The public hearing will occur within Council Chambers at Town Hall located at 30 South Main Street, Weaverville, NC, and as an electronic video meeting via Zoom Meeting. Access to the public hearing will begin at 5:45 p.m. and the hearing will start at 6:00 p.m. In compliance with the COVID-19 regulations, in person attendance by the public may be limited or staggered and social distancing during the hearing will be required.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT MEETING

Public Notice is hereby given that a Public Involvement Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020 between 4:00 and 5:00p.m. This meeting will occur within Council Chambers at Town Hall located at 30 South Main Street, Weaverville, NC to consider a proposed conditional zoning district application related to 10 and 30 Garrison Branch Road, parcel identification numbers 9733-72-2155 and 9733-72-0316, submitted by Garrison Branch Acquisitions, LLC for the accommodation of an approximate 70,000 square feet multi-tenant commercial facility to house office, retail and warehousing uses. Members of municipal staff and representatives of the applicant will be available to discuss the proposal with interested parties in attendance. In an effort to make the Town of Weaverville facilities and programs accessible to all, the Town has embarked on a comprehensive evaluation and Transition Plan process. The Plan seeks to identify barriers which impede access to Town facilities that are open to the public and to ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II requirements.

A key element of this project is to engage the public and gather public comment on accessibility issues within our community.

The State of North Carolina, Buncombe County and the Town of Weaverville have all declared States of Emergency in response to the COVID-19 public health crisis. Emergency restrictions intended to slow the spread of the coronavirus and COVID19 include, among other things: requiring individuals to remain in their homes, except for certain essential activities, closing many businesses to the public, and prohibiting any gatherings which do not comply with its terms.  Because of the risks to the public that would arise from in-person meetings, and in accordance with N.C. Gen. Stat. § 166A-19.24, the Town’s regular meeting on May 18, 2020 will be conducted via remote electronic format.

This NOTICE OF REMOTE ELECTRONIC MEETING is to inform the public that the Weaverville Town Council will hold its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. as an electronic video/audio meeting via Zoom Meeting.
