Notice is hereby given that the Weaverville ABC Board regular board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 1, 2021, has been rescheduled to a special called meeting to be held on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00 am in the Community Room at Town Hall, 30 South Main Street, Weaverville, NC. The purpose of this meeting is to hold and conduct its regular quarterly meeting for September 2021.

This meeting will operate in full compliance with any Town of Weaverville and/or Buncombe County Local State of Emergency Declaration and any Executive Order issued by the Governor related to COVID that is in effect at the time of the meeting. This can include limitations on the number of people that can gather indoors, face covering and/or social distancing requirements. At the time of the posting of this notice face coverings are required.

Action at this meeting may be taken.

LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS UPDATE

*LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS UPDATE*

The Town of Weaverville has been working on changes to the Town’s land development regulations that are required in order to comply with new North Carolina laws. The goal of the project was to provide land development regulations that are legally compliant, well-organized, user-friendly, and consistent with Town Council land development policy. While most of the new regulations do not involve changes in policy, the regulations pertaining to subdivisions and sidewalks have been changed to reflect a shift in Town Council policy on those subjects.

If you are interested in these new regulations the best place to start is the PowerPoint Presentation which provides an overview of the project and the changes that have been made.

The full drafts of the regulations can also be accessed along with a cross-reference table that links existing regulations to new regulations.

Town Council would like to provide advance notice to the public on these new regulations and receive public input. Weaverville staff will conduct information and public input sessions for that purpose on May 13 and May 19. Written comments are also welcomed up until May 24 at 1 pm by email to [email protected] , via drop boxes at Town Hall, or by mail to PO Box 338, Weaverville, NC, 28787. A public hearing before Town Council has also been scheduled for May 24 at 6 pm in the Community Room at Town Hall, 30 South Main Street, Weaverville. Notice is hereby given that the Weaverville ABC Board special called meeting originally scheduled for May 12, 2021, will instead be held on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 10:00 am in the Community Room at Town Hall, 30 South Main Street, Weaverville, NC. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the following:

In compliance with the State and Local Public Health and Emergency Orders, attendance by the public may be limited and masks and social distancing during the meeting may be required. At the time of this notice the Board intends to hold this meeting in person; however, if circumstances do not permit an in-person meeting to be safely held, the meeting will be held remotely via electronic means with additional notice to the public providing information on how to join the meeting.
