DESCRIPTION:INVASIVE PLANT WORKDAY IN THE MAIN STREET NATURE PARK \nThrough a generous anonymous donation through  The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina\, the Town has engaged an arborist to remove invasive plants from the Main Street Nature Park. That work begins on December 10th from 8:30 am to noon and will be in conjunction with a volunteer day coordinated by Asheville GreenWorks. Come learn about the proper handling of certain invasive plants through hands-on work with a certified arborist. Volunteers are asked to park at the Clock Parking Lot. Previously he has worked tirelessly on the Weaverville Economic Development Committee\, the Nature Park Committee\, as well as the Patriotic Committee and numerous local civic activities. \nWeaverville’s Annual Holiday Parade is held on the first Saturday of December every year. This event is a super sweet celebration of our community and the holiday season. \nFor a long time\, our Holiday Parade was managed by dedicated volunteers in partnership with Town Departments. In order to ensure safety and continuity\, the Town now oversees every aspect of the parade\, relying on a dedicated group of volunteers for planning and day-of support. \nWeaverville’s Annual 39th Holiday Parade will take place on the 1st Saturday in December 6th\, at 11am\, kicking off from the SECU parking lot on N. Main Street.  \nEvery parade entry has submitted an online application and fee and attended a required safety meeting. \nAll questions can be directed to Mike DeSerio at the Community Center  (828) 658-5816.
