Certified Surface Water Treatment Plant Operator

The Town of Weaverville Public Works Department is now accepting applications for full-time employment with the Town of Weaverville – Lawrence T. Sprinkle Water Treatment Facility. This facility is a surface water plant on a flow by river. Employee will be performing tasks required for the complete operation and maintenance of the facility including laboratory analysis. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Candidate must hold a current Water Treatment Grade C Certification or higher.

Candidate must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License and have the ability to obtain a NC Commercial Driving License “B” with tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire date (employer covers cost). Opening is for night shift, typical work week is 4 days -10 hours per day Wednesday through Saturday. However, candidate must be willing to work as required to maintain water services. Hire will be extensively trained and must achieve competent demonstration of skills prior to independent operation without direct supervision.

Certified Minimum Entry wage is $17.09 per hour. Applicants may be eligible to receive a higher wage offer depending on combination of education, certifications held and experience.
