Press Release: Information & Input Sessions on Land Use

The Town of Weaverville is in the process of updating its comprehensive land use plan which provides guidance to Town Council in its decisions concerning development within the Town.  Mayor Root and Town Council would like to receive as much community input on land use as possible during the development of the updated plan.

Citizens are encouraged to attend information and public input sessions on land use. Such session are scheduled for Thursday, March 21st from 12 pm to 3 pm and on Tuesday, March 26th from 5 pm to 8 pm, both in the Community Room at Town Hall, 30 South Main Street, Weaverville, NC. Upon request Town staff will also be scheduling information and input sessions for organized groups during the month of April.

Topics to be discussed will include:  demographics, growth, water, residential development, commercial and industrial development, streets and sidewalks, subdivisions, local and regional trends. Information on the comprehensive land use plan and land use topics is available on the Town’s website at www.weavervillenc.org.

Citizens can also submit comments by email to [email protected] or by bringing written comments to Town Hall.  Citizens wishing to discuss land use in person or to schedule a session for an organized group can do so by contacting the following:
