Town of Weaverville 150th Anniversary
On March 16, 1875, the North Carolina General Assembly passed, ‘An Act to incorporate the Town of Weaverville’, in Buncombe County, North Carolina. Weaverville was named after Micheal Montraville Weaver whose descendants still have connections to our area. This sesquicentennial celebration year will be one of unification, common understanding, and a year that challenges community members to celebrate Weaverville’s past, present, and future.
