Weaverville will hold its annual 9/11 observance at 11am on Monday, Sept. 11, 2023 at the Weaverville Community Center above Lake Louise. All are welcome. Please join us our speaker will be retired Navy Officer Renee Taft, as well as music by the Reuter Center Singers, Paster Rebecca Gurney of Reems Creek Beech Presbyterian Church to provide our invocation, Taps by the Weaverville Fire Department, and Howard Dusenbery on the bagpipes.
Speaker Renee Taft joined the US Navy after watching the events of Sept. 11th unfold and her life took an irreversible turn as she served our country and followed in the footsteps of her beloved grandfather. Currently Mrs. Taft is the Assistant Nurse Manager at Community Living Center of Asheville VAMC, providing long-term care and hospice.
