Main Threat: Damaging wind gusts of up to 60 mph, with the greatest concern across the North Carolina mountains, foothills, and Piedmont.
Timing: 5:00 PM–Midnight
Strong winds may bring down trees, limbs, and power lines, and localized flooding from heavy rain is possible.
Flood Safety: Never drive through flooded roadways. It only takes 18–24 inches of fast-moving water to carry away most large SUVs, vans, and trucks.
Please stay weather-aware this afternoon and evening, monitor local forecasts and alerts, and use caution when traveling.
