Weaverville Earth Day Butterfly Dedication
Join us on April 22nd at noon (12 o’clock) at the Weaverville Main Street Clock Lot!
In celebration of Earth Day, we are holding the Bee City USA Butterfly Trail dedication ceremony for the Red-spotted purple butterfly sculpture
. Butterflies are symbols of rebirth and transformation. In Mexico, the monarch butterfly is believed to represent deceased loved ones returning on the Day of the Dead.
Each Asheville Butterfly Trail station is a stunning educational display with pollinator-friendly plantings and larger-than-life native butterflies. Stations are carefully sited throughout Buncombe County to inspire residents and visitors to help conserve butterflies and other pollinators. This has been a collaborative project and we would like to thank Bee City USA Asheville, the Weaverville Garden Club, and our own Public Works landscaping crew who have all worked hard during this installation. Happy Spring!
