NOTICE OF SPECIAL-CALLED MEETING FOR
January 17, 2025, at 2:30 PM
PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that the Weaverville Town Council will hold a special-called meeting on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 2:30 pm in Council Chambers/Community Room at Town Hall, 30 South Main Street, Weaverville, N.C.
The purpose of the special-called meeting is for Town Council to enter into closed session as allowed by N.C. General Statute: §143-318.11(a)(6) in order to consider the qualifications, competence, performance, character, fitness, conditions of appointment, or conditions of initial employment of an individual public officer or employee or prospective public officer or employee, and N.C.G.S. §143-318.11(a)(3), to consult with an attorney employed or retained by the public body in order to preserve the attorney-client privilege between the attorney and the public body, which privilege is hereby acknowledged; in order to review town manager candidates and conduct candidate selection. This closed session is necessary so that the legally required confidentiality of the applicants and process can be maintained.
Town Council is not expected to take any action in open session at this meeting.
