Lake Louise Culvert Repair Project

UPDATE: Lake Louise culvert repair project:
Lake Louise Culvert Project Update:
The contractor has replaced the culvert and is cleaning up the walking path to get it ready for stone. The road and walking path will be repaved as soon as weather permits. The roadway was opened earlier this week, and the walking path will be reopened once the stone is in place (estimated by next week or earlier 🤞).
A portion of Lake Louise Drive will be closed to allow contractors to install a culvert from Merimon Ave. to Lakeshore Drive. The parking area across from the walking trailhead is also closed. Anyone needing access to the Weaverville Community Center should access it from the parking area on Lakeshore Drive. A portion of the trail also remains closed. We expect this project to wrap up within the next two weeks and appreciate your patience and understanding.
Lake Louise culvert repair project:
Beginning Tuesday, January 13, 2026, repairs to the culvert system on Lake Louise Drive will commence. This work is expected to last approximately two weeks with repairs consisting of replacement of the culverts under the roadway and through the park to the lake. Portions of the park and path will be closed off for heavy equipment to operate safely. It is necessary to lower Lake Louise enough to make repairs to the outfall / bank as well.
We apologize for the inconvenience to park users but appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have questions or concerns, please contact Public Works at 828-645-0606.
