Updates and Information for October 2, 2024
WATER

  • You will see intermittent water coming through the faucet. Boil advisory in effect until further notice. Water must come to a rolling boil for at least one full minute.
  • Please conserve water, this is an emergency water supply.
  • If your power comes on before your water heater, please turn off your water heater to avoid damaging the heating elements.
  • Water distribution is happening at North Windy Ridge Intermediate School. Bring your own water containers.

FOOD AND GAS

  • Water and pantry items will be available for pickup on Thursday, October 3 at the Weaverville Community Center, 60 Lakeshore Drive. 10am – 2pm.
  • Donations of water and pantry items will be collected at the Community Center Thursday, October 3 between 3pm and 4pm.
  • Lunch is being provided at the Methodist and Baptist Churches on Main Street.

INFORMATION AND RESOURCES

  • The landfill is open and the road is clear. You are welcome to transport your garbage to the landfill if you need to.
  • Town garbage collection and Curbie Recycling to potentially resume Monday, October 7th.
  • If you’re planning to seek FEMA reimbursement; take pictures, document, and track everything.
  • There is a mobile ATM at PNC on Weaver Blvd.
  • T-Mobile is establishing an area for wifi and phone charging behind Tractor Supply.

Bulletins will be posted to Town buildings every day around 4pm as we learn more.
