Weaverville, December 18, 2018 – Town Manager Selena Coffey has announced her appointment of Ron Davis as Weaverville’s new Chief of Police. Davis, current Assistant Police Chief for Fletcher, North Carolina, will begin his employment with the Town of Weaverville on Tuesday, January 2, 2019.
Davis, who has served as Assistant Police Chief for Fletcher Police Department for almost eight years, will fill the role being vacated by retiring Police Chief Alan Wyatt. Davis holds an advanced law enforcement certification and is a certified criminal investigator. He is a police instructor at Blue Ridge Community College and has had numerous roles in law enforcement, including as a police officer, a criminal investigator for the 29B District Attorney’s office, Sheriff’s Department detective, and has served as an international police advisor. Davis is also a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the Army National Guard and as a paratrooper and sergeant of an airborne infantry squadron.
