While working to maintain the area’s small-town charm, Weaverville officials have invested significantly in a variety of recent initiatives intended to support both current and future entrepreneurial businesses. These efforts have made Weaverville increasingly appealing to a variety of low-impact enterprises. Click here to view Weaverville Business Association directory.
To implement that vision, in 2022 the Town established free public wi-fi in its downtown area and parks to provide students and entrepreneurs better internet connectivity. Also in 2022, the town changed its zoning regulations in the downtown commercial area to restrict the size of any new business buildings without approval of Town Council. This allows the Town to emphasize economic development through small local businesses.
The WEDAC has additionally been working to create a co-working space where entrepreneurs and professionals working from home would have a place to work with office resources and develop an entrepreneurial community that would help local businesses expand and thrive.

In partnership with the Town, the United Methodist, First Baptist and First Presbyterian Churches collectively provide spaces for use by the working public so that Main Street parking can be used for customers and visitors.
