Recreation Assistant

The Town of Weaverville is seeking applications for a Recreation Assistant at the Weaverville Community Center and Lake Louise Recreation Complex. This employee will provide private rental assistance, customer service, and coverage support to the Community Center Manager / Recreation Coordinator, Community Center users, staff, and volunteers.
COMPENSATION
Annual salary hiring range: $41,660 – $52,076 dependent on education and experience.
HOURS AND SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position with most work occurring Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, with assigned weekend and evening hours as well.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide guest service and customer support in person and via phone and email.
• Oversee every step of the private rental process, to include addressing pre-booking questions, reservation approvals, key pickups and building orientations, on-site support, post-rental communications and refund processing.
• Work closely with the Community Center Manager/Recreation Coordinator to maintain and manage the reservation system.
• Assist with special projects as directed by the Community Center Manager / Recreation Coordinator, including special event setup and breakdown.
• Assist the Community Center Manager/Recreation Coordinator with Community Programming at the Community Center and the Lake Louise Outdoor Recreation Complex.
• Provide on-call and weekend coverage to renters and community programs as directed by the Community Center Manager/Recreation Coordinator, outside of normal business hours.
• Participate as part of a hardworking team to balance and respond to the needs of the community with the needs of the community center and recreation complex.
• The work schedule will be flexible based on the activities for which this position is responsible. There may be significant evening and weekend hours, depending on events.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1-3 years of experience working in event planning, customer service, or facility management. Experience in recreation program administration preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Position requires a background screening, pre-employment drug screen, possession of a valid drivers’ license, and successful candidate must be able to maintain CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications. Compensation: This position has a competitive salary, which is dependent on the candidate qualifications, and the Town offers an excellent benefits package.
